Pro bono /

I have been thinking long about my third life. The first one is obviously with family and friends. I will never less prioritize the most important things in this world, which is, to me, people around me. I wouldn't ever become happy if my family and close friends are unhappy. The second one is work. I need to earn money in order to support the lives of my family (including two dogs). But, recently quite often times, I get to question to myself, "is that all?" I still remember one of the very first posts in my blog very early days back in more than 10 years ago (unfortunately not in this platform but it was at intranet at my college so it must have disappered by now...sadly). It was about my dream. I wrote, "I will become a billionaire like Bill Gates. And maybe I will like to be featured in a TV show as the most influencial philanthoropist in the world. Then, I would be honored by the Nobel prize." I'd be so embarrased if it was just a blog post on yesterday...but please forgive me more than 10 years ago. But, there is one thing for sure unchanged at least within my head. That is a question about how I would be able to contribute to public, society, community, country, region, and people's happiness. As I would like to answer to my question, I've been even looking into feasibility on running in an election to be a statesman (I would't like to be called as a 'politician'). I am not very interested in state politics however. I'd be rather attracted by local one. But, frankly speaking, the politics especially in developed countries does not seem to be solving issues around people's happiness unfortunately, because the fiscal deficit is so huge that the politicians' focus need to be there, the numbers. It unfortunately forces politicians to step aside before they come to think about intangible values, like happiness. That is not what I want to do. Meanwhile, I recently had a great introduction to a certain nonprofit, for which I just started working on a pro bono basis. It's been a few months since I showed interests in a job there. I haven't been able to speak about it to a larger group because I shied away from doing so before I made some committment. But now, I am getting comfortable with talking about it. So going forward, I would like to share some activities about my third life with the readers of this blog. I have been so far enjoying it very much. This is something that I wanted to do.
