Actually the tall British guy is Andy, the owner/manager. Every morning he goes to Tsukiji to get good deals on fresh seafood. He's been a fixture of Yurakucho for YEARS! Really cool guy, too.
He seemed very cool. i never knew that he runs the place. i was told by my boss to check tables and did not, of course, expect Andy would ask me at the entrance how many we were. I don't remember but it was in fluent Japanese. I was confused and, thought, was drunk (and really was)...
